Situational Awareness Safety Seminar *

Our first community training, S.A.S.S., at Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery

WDC President, Erin Chronister, giving the S.A.S.S. presentation at Salted Vines in Frankford Delaware.

The March 12th S.A.S.S. event at Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery was such an amazing experience. These small community events are crucial to building connections, educating women on their rights, and providing information on training options for whichever tool they choose for their protection.

Le Chic’s Boutique, located in Smyrna Delaware has a large assortment of concealed carry options for women. Whether you carry pepper spray/gel, a stun device, or a firearm…. Visit Le Chic’s!

The Women’s Defense Coalition of Delaware isn’t about putting a gun in the hand of every woman. Rather, we advocate for each woman to decide on the tool that best suits her need, circumstances, and personal convictions.

Self-Defense starts with knowing your rights. Understanding the tools available to you and when you can legally and physically use them is paramount when building your personal protection plan. Those tools include:

  • Developing a survivor’s mindset

  • Superb awareness skills; Create and maintain space and distance, giving you time and options to avoid it altogether, flee, or fight.

  • Less than lethal options; Pepper spray/gel, stun device, striking tool, or physical combatives. Knowing how they work, when they won’t work, when they do work, and who they will work against.

  • Lethal option; A firearm and how to legally, safely, and adequately protect yourself.

Miranda is our amazing less than lethal rep. Her work through Damsel In Defense has truly helped us show women so many options for personal protection.

The partnerships we have within the community are exponentially important to us at WDC. We truly believe that it takes a village to care for one another, and that is exactly what we are building throughout the state of Delaware.

We would like to thank Miranda from Damsel in Defense & Chaunte from Le Chic’s Boutique for attending this event with us, allowing women to get hands-on with products they had a ton of questions about.

In addition, a special shoutout to Salted Vines and their amazing staff for hosting us at their beautiful venue!

Our next S.A.S.S. event will be on Tuesday, April 25th from 6-8 pm at Mill Creek Fire Hall in Wilmington, Delaware. The Eventbrite link for FREE registration will be added under our events tab soon!!
